Robin is a little boy who lives with his parents on a farm in the countryside. It is a family run farm and he plays his part by helping out with chores. In some ways he is quite grown up and understands responsibility but he enjoys a carefree freedom which feeds an enquiring mind and an adventurous spirit.
Do you ever worry that dreams can get lost and fade away. Well they don’t if the Dream Catcher is there to help. He makes it his business to make sure important dreams do not get lost and what is more he can help make dreams come true. Of course you need to believe and it takes a little bit of magic and it isn’t easy. He helps Robin’s dream of catching a shooting star come true but when the star disappears and he is also on hand to heal Robin’s broken heart and help him understand and come to terms with the loss of a friend.
Dalmatians are constant ad faithful companions and given the chance they will never leave your side. Monty lives with Robin on the farm and shares all of the ups and downs that happen in a small boys life. Always there, for fun and games, or as a shoulder to cry on. Part of the way through the story Dizzy, a Dalmatian puppy, joins the family giving Robin another playmate and friend.
The arrival of swallows in the spring, and their departure in the early autumn marks changes in the seasons. Their arrival, back in the same place after a flight of thousands of miles, is miraculous and joyful. Farms with their old barns and other buildings are wonderful nesting places for these birds and their flight through the pages of this story speak of time passing, change and renewal.
